NCRI - A lot number of Iranian teachers on Wednesday protested outside the Iranian regime's Majlis (Parliament) to demand their basic human rights and the freedom of their arrestes associates.
The aggregation by Iran’s teachers and education and training staff took place despite heightened repression in the Iranian capital Tehran. The aggregation had been called by the Central Council of Teachers in reaction to the arrest of a number of teachers.
There was a especially large attendance of women among the protesting teachers, many of who had travelled from other cities to join the aggregation .
The closest metro, the Baharestan Metro station, was in lock-down with suppressive forces exercise batons and bumper intimidating passers-by.
The Iranian regime's repressive security forces summarily arrested some 100 people at the protest. There was an effort by the regime’s suppressive forces to cut off communications at the site of the aggregation . People who removed mobile phones from their pockets were immediately detained.
Those arrested were transferred by vans to unknown places.
